The Northwest Institute of Ayurveda offers in-person ayurvedic massage training at our center in Arcata, Humboldt County, Northern California. Students take our program for personal enjoyment as well as for professional advancement. We offer three different 40-Hour ayurvedic massage immersions for those who want to learn, practice and receive Ayurvedic massage, "bliss therapies" and seasonal detox. Take one, two or all three immersions to receive your "Ayurvedic Massage & Panchakarma Therapist" program certificate from the Institute. It takes approximately one year to complete your certificate. Upon completion of all three ayurvedic massage immersions, you will receive your "Ayurvedic Massage and Panchakarma Therapist" program certificate from the Institute.
You Will Learn:
Ayurvedic Warm Oil Massage Intensive:
March 1-3, & 8-10, 2019 (two 3-day weekends)
Learn the refined art of Ayurvedic warm oil massage & gentle detox methods including: Complete head to toe Ayurvedic Warm Oil Abhyanga Massage will be taught in complete detail, along with ayurvedic hot stone massage. Different parts of the body will be taught and experienced daily. Each day will build upon the day before: Day 1: Scalp/Neck/Shoulders/Face, Day 2: Legs (front)/Chest/Abdomen/Arms (front), Day 3: Front of Body, Day 4: Back of Body (legs, glutes, back), Days 5-6: Full Body Massage Practice & Review, Students will also enjoy daily Nasya & Karna Purna (Nourishing Sinus & Ear Therapies)
Ultimate Rejuvenation Therapies Immersion:
October 9-13, 2019 (5-day immersion)
Learn Ayurveda's Ultimate Rejuvenation Therapies & gentle Ayurvedic detox methods including: Easy Reclining Abhyanga (Ayurvedic warm oil Massage), Pizichilli (“warm oil bath” – like “shirodhara” over the whole body), Pinda Swedana (herbal bolus massage – 2 Types will be experienced: one for pain and tension relief, another for tonifying the immune system “ojas”), Nourishing Body Bastis (nourishing & strengthening therapies for the mind, heart, joints, and glands using special medicated oils), Nasya & Karna Purna (Nourishing Sinus & Ear Therapies), Swedana (aromatic full-body herbal steam)
Ayurveda Bliss Therapies Immersion:
Learn "Ayurveda Bliss Therapies" & gentle Ayurvedic detox methods including: Easy Laying Abhyanga (Ayurvedic warm oil Massage), Shirodhara (warm oil over forehead, deep relaxation & hair therapy), Swedana (aromatic full-body herbal steam), Eye Basti (nourishing & lubricating therapy for the eyes using warm liquefied ghee), Nasya & Karna Purna (Nourishing Sinus & Ear Therapies)
Each Immersion Includes:
- Daily Practice & Receiving of warm oil massage & special therapies which vary according to each immersion.
- Daily Ayurvedic Lunch and Dinner Provided with Ayurvedic cooking lesson provided the first day (recipes provided).
- Option of going through gentle SVAyurveda guided group detox (recipes and protocols will be provided)
- Learn to prepare & perform bastis (herbal enemas) at home and these are totally optional
- Discuss issues related to doing Panchakarma Ayurvedic detox and program design
- Deepen Your Comfort & Confidence in giving Ayurvedic Massage & Detox Therapies
